I love Rein but he's a bit of a nightmare to draw in these strips... He DEMANDS more detail.

This happened. I don’t play Reinhardt often but I happened to have a good game.

When solo queuing, I’ve NEVER heard a female voice on the teamchat, and I’m not surprised. Keeping quiet means less chance of being harassed, hit on, or treated differently in general. It is kinda funny when folks playing assume everyone on their team must naturally be a dude though.

If I was braver I’d voicechat on solo queue. Someday.

O’ course if you’d rather read this as being Rein’s a transwoman and hasn’t transitioned/kept the beard, that’s ok too.

I never treat someone different in games depending on their gender, just refer to them by gender-related words.

Gender when playing online is never an issue with me. I've mostly played games where the community is burning and I do my best to offer some stuff for nothing in return.

Warframe is definite example.

But if no women ever use their mic it will never normalize.

I once said "hello" in voicechat after several other team members had said so. Chat was immediately filled with "a grill, lost already". We won and I got POTG but I will never speak in voicechat again.

On Smackjeeves, I associate people with their avatars. So it was a surprise to me that you are female, since your avatar is a bald guy.

@MarioKong: I get that a lot.

"Your appearance now is what we call residual self image. It is the mental projection of your digital self."

THIS IS ME

Haha can so relate to this as a Rein main! I talk more when I have buddies but as someone who has played a lot I've gotten a lot of abuse once my voice is heard. Luckily though most of the ppl I team with are not that way. Its sad and frustrating when it happens but I feel that the majority of the community is supportive of female players and there are more of us than you think!

Yeah I'm a Mercy main which tend to have more girls but I also will tank in a pinch and just say thanks. Or every now and again at the end come on to mic and in my most girlish voice go "Thanks guys! " Let it be known that back that broke carrying you to victory was a girl's gosh darn it! Also the flood of friend invites I end up ignoring afterwards sometimes is amusing. Don't friend grills just because they're grills :p
